Base manager Florent Courbez welcomes you to Chatillon sur Loire, 150km from Paris, 7km from Briare. Its name originates in the “Castillo”, a small fortress which was built in the 10th century on the hill where the church now stands. Throughout the middle ages, Chatillon sur Loire was fought over by the Abbey of Fleury and the courts of Sancerre. With its strong protestant dominance, the town was attacked and besieged seven times in the 16th century..
Take advantage of our online grocery ordering service which allows you to order a selection of basic provisions for your first few nights on board. This is especially useful if you are not driving to your base, or know you will be arriving after the supermarkets have closed. Simply download a provisioning list here, send it to the base and they will do your shopping for you! The cost of your groceries is payable in local currency when you arrive.
Le Boat will be happy to arrange transfers from your arrival point to the base. Please download a taxi transfer form here and send it to the base at least 14 days prior to departure. The base receptionist will contact you directly to confirm details of your transfer.
