Chatillon-sur-Loire - Decize (or vice versa)
A one week cruise alongside the River Loire through the famous Sancerre wineproducing region, stopping for winetastings en route, to Nevers, famous for producing the oldest china in France and where quaint streets converge on the Ducal Palace. Arrive in Decize, where 300 year old plane trees line the avenues in typical French style.
This town offers several interesting sites to visit, magnificent walks, many restaurants, bars, supermarkets and a good assortment of shops.

A magnificent place situated on a high hill surrounded by the famous vineyards of the Sancerre wine, where you can wander among its interesting old winding streets and narrow alleys. Renowned for its gastronomy, both food and wines.
Classed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, La Charité sur Loire was an important stop on the pilgrimage route of Saint Jacques de Compostelle. L'église Notre Dame, (the church) is an absolutely magnificent example of Roman architecture and should not be missed.
Situated on the banks the Loire, the last untamed river in France, Marseilles-les-Aubigny is a very pleasant place to spend a night and the Port de Plaisance is conveniently situated for shops and restuarants. Marseilles-les-Aubigny has, since ancient times, been an active and important trading post transporting a wide range of cargoes, including metal from the Vallée de l'Aubois, lime and cereals from the basin of Beffes and timber from the Tronçais forest.
It’s a very agreeable place to stop overnight and is in a calm and tranquil location. There are a couple of nice restaurants not too far away and a boulangerie in the village. There's a BBQ area and some picnic tables here if wish to use them - you’d need to shop for it before ouy stop for the night as there are no shops here.

This historic town with its Ducal Palace has an attractive mooring and an interesting town centre to explore.

A quiet and relaxing village with just 270 inhabitants and a well equipped mooring place. There are no supermarkets here but there is a boulangerie.

Sitauted at the junction of the Canal du Nivernais and the Canal Latéral à la Loire, and the confluenbce of the Loire and the Aron, Decize is a pretty little town, well worth a stop to explore. The are 3 good supermarkets conveniently placed close to mooring spots so this is the ideal place to get any heavy shopping on board.
