Cruising on the Canal de la Marne au Rhin and Canal du Rhône au Rhin, take your boat up the Arzviller boat lift and experience one of the greatest marvels of modern canal engineering. Spend time in the cosmopolitan city of Strasbourg, admire Europe’s biggest stained glass window in Sarrebourg and enjoy fantastic view of Alsace from the Château du Haut Barr in Saverne. Let down your hair and have fun at the Europa fun park in Rust, just over the border in Germany.
It is just one hour's cruising from our Base with no locks in between. The harbour makes a pleasant first night stop.

The village is guarded by a towering castle which overlooks the alpine wooden houses, giving it a fairytale appearance. Also visit its shops and the crystal cutter at “Maison Wurm”

It's a small and friendly town, possessing the region's characteristic steep-pitched roofs and window boxes full of geraniums. There are some beautiful traditional old half timbered houses in the town, in particular on Grand' Street. Saverne is also known for its famous Rose Garden, displaying over 550 roses.
The town is famous locally for its brewery. Brewing has been here since 870AD and the local, family owned brewer, Meteor has a brasserie and museum. The brewerie offers guided tours.
