Admire the beautiful scenery as you ascend the Arzviller boat lift and cruise on to Saverne, with its beautiful rose gardens. Home to the European parliament, Strasbourg is a culturally rich city and perfect for shopping and sightseeing. Its entire town centre is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It is just one hour's cruising from our Base with no locks in between. The harbour makes a pleasant first night stop.

The village is guarded by a towering castle which overlooks the alpine wooden houses, giving it a fairytale appearance. Also visit its shops and the crystal cutter at “Maison Wurm”

It's a small and friendly town, possessing the region's characteristic steep-pitched roofs and window boxes full of geraniums. There are some beautiful traditional old half timbered houses in the town, in particular on Grand' Street. Saverne is also known for its famous Rose Garden, displaying over 550 roses.
The town is famous locally for its brewery. Brewing has been here since 870AD and the local, family owned brewer, Meteor has a brasserie and museum. The brewerie offers guided tours.
